(Lindsey's Point Of View - 6 Months Later)
"I'll call you everyday! I promise, Lindsey! And text you every hour! And we can video chat every ni-" Joe's shouting was cut off as Kevin whisked him away from the door of their private jet, which was about to take off. They were going on tour again, traveling from city to city for a whole two and a half months that I knew would drag by extremely slowly. It would be difficult not seeing Joe for that long, but I knew we would be able to cope with the distance.
His face appeared in a tiny window, smiling and waving ridiculously, with Kevin and Nick right beside him. I backed up as the airplane began to move down the runway, the wind picking up and blowing my curls into my face. Kayla and Brooke stood right next to me, laughing at the sight of the three brothers' humorous facial expressions.
The plane continued to steadily move into the distance, and just when it seemed as if it was going to lift up into the air, it stopped. A door opened, stairs were suddenly lowered down, and out emerged a curly haired boy, who began to swiftly run in our direction.
"Nick? What's wrong?" Kayla yelled over to him as he approached quickly.
Panting and out of breath, Nick ran straight over to his girlfriend and pulled her into his arms. "I forgot to kiss you goodbye," he simply stated as he leaned down and gently pressed his lips against Kayla's. Their eyes locked as he pulled away, and with that, he turned around and sprinted back to the stationary airplane.
Within seconds, the massive jet that was feet away from us moments before was now a tiny speck in the sky among the clouds.
I guess you could say Joe was my boyfriend at this point. He never actually formally asked me, but it was pretty obvious between the amount of dates we'd been on, the time spent talking to each other online, and the excessive amount of compliments he'd give me. But more than anything, I saw Joe as my superman, my hero. After all, he DID pretty much save my life back at our first concert when I somehow managed to faint. Before that, I was nearly on the edge of giving up on finding love, or even luck in my case. But Joe, he came around and completely changed everything for the better.
As for Kayla, Nick was the one who saved her. She told me in great detail about a dream she once had, where she was rapidly falling through the sky, until out of nowhere, Nick appeared, pulling her to safety. I laughed about it then, telling her how utterly cheesy it was and that she'd been watching too many chick flicks. But in a way, it was true.
Kayla, Brooke, and I headed to our cars and made our way back to my house after the brothers' departure. Brooke immediately latched herself to the computer in my bedroom and opened up an Internet page, logging onto the Jonas Brothers website. There was a newly established link up on the top, entitled "Kevin's Advice Column."
A slight smile played across her lips as she scrolled down to read the small text at the bottom of the screen for the millionth time. "Dedicated to one of my favorite people of all time, my Starbucks partner - Brooke," it read.
Ever since their first outing to Starbucks months ago, Brooke and Kevin had returned about fifteen or more times. And each time, they'd sit down, order the same drinks, and give each other advice on everything. Kevin helped Brooke overcome the unfortunate passing away of her grandmother, and Brooke assisted him with getting rid of pesky ex-girlfriends... like Rachel, for example.
In the end, everything seemed to fall into place. Even though Brooke never had the happy ending she used to fantasize of with Kevin, she appreciated the conversations they had much, much more. Kayla and Nick were falling deeper and deeper into love with each passing day. And for once in my life, I felt like the luckiest girl alive - not only did I have the boy of my dreams, but I had two best friends who I knew would NEVER leave my side.
