In the tradition of Gandhi and the Chipko movement, they used direct action to save the forests of the Western Ghats. An inspirational story of a non-violent grass-roots movement that arose in the vilages of Southern India.
Thank you for making this film. It's both heartening and saddening to see the victories and the perhaps inevitable defeat. Ultimately it's about our human-ness and spirit that longs for truth, what's rightfully ours in the context of the cosmos, and the "common people's" fight against the state and corporate world. Our link to the real seems so tenuous right now. This film reminds us of our duty to do what is right.
