Dell Latitude D420 Review

This is a video I should have done a couple weeks ago: a review of my Dell Latitude D420.

Specs:
-Intel Core Duo ULV U2500 at 1.2Ghz (Dual-Core, 2MB cache, 800Mhz bus speed)
-1.5GB DDR2 PC2-4200 RAM 533Mhz
-60GB 1.8" SATA ZIF Hard Drive 4200RPM
-Intel GMA 950 (up to 224MB memory)
-Windows XP Professional SP3
-external optical drive
-6-cell battery

Overall, this is a great computer.
Pros:
great build quality
fast
portable

Cons:
tinny mono speaker is crap
runs a little hot
non-standard keyboard

My shop threw away 200 of these anf I took like litterally twenty

My company gave this to me in spring 2009 and it has worked perfectly since. I bought the slice battery for it and life is good. Prob going to get the Thinkpad X220 now though Thinkpad's are much better.

@Dell0304 No I honestly think this laptop has been outdone many times since.

I can't see why you would buy this laptop when you've got IBM Thinkpad x41, x60, x61 and all the HP Elitebooks lying around at somewhat same pricelevel.

I bought my HP Elitebook 2710p, which is somewhat 10 times as awesome as any Latitude, at 200$.

The CPU in D420 is also too weak for watching 1080p youtube, which is a let-down as well.

@Mantua64 So you don't think anybody will ever buy this laptop again? There are so many of these on eBay and craigslist.

I don't do a review because it's a new product. I do a review because I want to give my thoughts on it. Doesn't really matter if it's old.

@Dell0304 Yeah I don't know, maybe because ppl aren't going to buy this laptop any more? And if someone where to buy a used one they most likely wouldn't need a review anyway.

But I find your review to be pretty well put together though.

I have a Dell Latitude D630 which is also from around 2007 and I can honestly say that these laptops are indeed great.
