Don McCarlos, known as Don Carlos, had been an original member of Black Uhuru in the early 1970s before a long struggle to establish a solo career. When he did so, he went big time with the massive "Nice Time - Late Night Blues", a tune originated by Al Campbell. Celebrating the house parties that had been reggae's lifeblood since the 1950s, Don's hit unavoidably detained ravers well into the early hours throughout 1981, and has carried on doing so ever since.
An awesome tune. this is the 12" discomix complete with the earthshaking dub (what a bass-line!) on the Pirate record label dating from 1980.
hey bruv are you a late comer to reggae music? coz despite what your repressing says everybody knows he is "Don Carlos"

Have you got the showcase album from which this song was taken from? I haven't heard that album in years. I glad there people out there who take time to post classic music which bring back many a fond memory.
The showcase album featured vocal and dubs. I wish I could get ahold of this album again as I regret selling it even though the condition was crap after years of playing it - again and again. Thanks
