"I can't give it, 'cause it wasn't given to me...I tried to love, but it would always be hollow, ' cause I didn't know how to do it from the inside...I tried so hard...and yet to know it's not it..." This takes up from where Part 1 ended. It continues with Part 3. One of the reasons to show what a real feeling session (primal session) looks like is also to counter the varieties of "faux primal" that is espoused by the vast majority of those who call themselves primal therapists, many of whom are affiliated with the International Primal Association. I have no way of knowing if there are any members of the IPA (International Primal Association) who practice genuine primal therapy -- actually I do know of one, Paul Hannig, who has published parts of his clients' sessions on YouTube -- but having been a Board Member, the editor of their journal, and a conference organizer and active conference participant at a number of the IPA's conferences and conventions, I know that of which I speak. Mary Lynn and I left the IPA primarily because we eventually found out the sad facts of what these faux therapists were doing and the dire consequences it was having on their clients and, sadly, their deluded selves. When it became apparent that we were surprised by what we were seeing, the animosity towards us became "hot" as one Board member confided to us. There is nothing but sadness that we have, myself and Mary Lynn, for those who are members of the IPA or their clients, as several close friends of ours, Board Members of the IPA, died too young and as we observed intimately, never truly knew what primal therapy really was about, or like, or ever observed it, except a few on a rare occasion in myself, and among the participants of the workshops we led at conferences and conventions, which we hoped would plant some seeds of change. But people are not wont to change ways they have developed over decades and found to be a source of income for themselves. Faux primal did not kill our friends who were members of the IPA Board with us; it just kept them from getting to experience actual primal, which would have succeeded in healing the ailments that took their lives.
