@unleavenedbread340 I have no idea. Even the carollas do it, so its not a tacoma specific issue. Whatever it is I don't think it really matters b/c it goes away when everything is warmed up...

I had the coldest start of the year this morning, 32 degrees. (i live in california) and my 2011 2.7 made the same noise just not as dramatic. Do you know why the water pumps make that noise in the cold?

@schindlerman96 yeah it doesn't take much. this year might be more of an issue though...that battery seems to be slowly dying...

@bliglum haha yea kinda. all the L4's make that noise when its this cold. my buddy's camry does the same thing. toyotas always go...even with a crappy battery :D

I'd say it sounds more supercharger than turbo LOL! And I knew it would start... It's a toyota.
