Drum cover of a track Jeff Porcaro played. Thanks for the inspiration Jeff, and apologies in advance for rushing the track near the end and whatever else I messed up.

Track: Bawlz
Original Band: Karizma

  • Wow that was a really nice Jeff tribute!! I didn't know this Karizma tune and it's great! I checked a pair of Jeff Porcaro discography sites and couldn't find he was playing on this tune, but they may be wrong. Which album is this from?

You had great feel and taste playing, and it seemed very faithful to the original, though I haven't ever listened to the song itself.

Thank you for putting this on Youtube, it's nice to have these less known Porcaro covers! Nice work

    Keep on Groovin'!

Thanks man! Definitely appreciate the kind words. It's from an album called "Guitar Workshop in LA". There's another version of the same song on a Karizma record "Lost & Found" with Vinnie Colaiuta, but I didn't dare try to cover that one, haha. This version however is the classic Porcaro shuffle, half-time shuffle, and some of his signature fills.

  • nice job brother... def know jeffs fills. love all his 1a 2 a 3e 4e fills... love that shit! word

Thx Man...checked out your vids too. Nice jammin'. Would be great to find a band like that playing groovy music.

    Cheers,

  • Great tune. Great cover! (Didn't really notice any rushing at the end. Certainly didn't take away anything from the effort).

Thanks man..I'm having some problems with Adobe Premiere with another video, so I'm not sure if I'm rushing or if it's a sync issue, perhaps it's time to pick up Final Cut pro (and a Mac). Appreciate the comments/feedback
