@piano345 I would not agree with you, just have to listen closely. It's almost impossible to have that sound if your hands aren't free. The quality of Weissenberg's playing is just so high, he has respect for every note. Every note resonates.

@prodesica Non, non è così, leggi anche le altre mie recensioni. Dico solo che Weissemberg, anche se ha inciso e interpretato assieme a Giulini, Karajan e altri grandi interpreti, è decisamente crollato nel tempo. Se ascolti le incisioni di Debussy per la Deutsche Grammophome, i Valzer di Chopin per la EMI, i Quadri di Moussorgsky, te ne accorgi !! Su sokolov, leggi anche pareri e critiche al di fuori di Youtube, se vuoi, e vedrai che non sono l'unico ad avere certi dubbi ......

@darkblueangel1956 bè insomma, aver lavorato con gente come Szell, Karajan, Giulini, ecc... credo basti. Poi a ottanta e passa anni è anche normale starsene a casa in pace. P.S. non amo per niente Weissemberg, ma i tuoi commenti sono sempre astiosi e a sproposito (vedi quelli a Sokolov).

Scaduto già da molto tempo, poco richiesto nelle sale da concerto, non si è mai rinnovato nel proprio linguaggio intepretativo. Purtroppo nell'intervista dice anche un sacco di idiozie, per farle apparire come perle di saggezza, di chi ha girato il mondo, ma non ne ha compreso tutto quel che poteva realmente arricchirlo interiormente. Di cosa vive adesso il Maestro Alexis Weissemberg ? Lo trovo molto dimagrito e deperito !!! CHE PECCATO !!!

Technically impressive but his sound world is hard and metallic. It's possible to produce a fortissimo without banging - could be the recording that's at fault.
