Here's a remake and up to date version of an older video of mine; how to setup and use a MIDI controller. This video shows the basics of how to setup and map a MIDI controller in Scratch Live. While I'm using a Traktor Kontrol X1, it doesn't matter which MIDI controller you have, the process of mapping functions is the same regardless of which MIDI controller you use.

  • Dude if you could look into the iPhone and iTouch ITM midi app and how to set it up on Serato that would be awesome!

  • @sleevless I suppose I could a make a video for setting up ITM with Scratch Live.

  • how about tips on best practices since most midi controllers don't have as many buttons as there are features in scratch live

  • @TheUpperground That might be a little tricky as everyone has different wants/needs from their MIDI controller.

  • Great videos but can you do a video on how to map loop roll to midi pads. Since 2.0 came with the midi panel and loop roll button, simply just mapping loop rool is no help. I want to be able to loop roll like i use to. Im using korg nano pads. I had 6 pads mapped to the diffrent loop lengths and had loop roll active making loops seemless. Now i have to click on the length b4 i push loop role button, which makes me have to completly stop one roll click next length then roll again. Plz help serat

  • thanks! great videos!

  • @DJDVUS1 - Yes, you need to have your hardware connected to see the midi button at the top of the screen. You cannot midi map anything in the offline player when no hardware is connected.

  • @mmmikemartin whoops, figured it out. Thanks anyways mayne

  • Hey man, great video. I had a question about mapping the scroll/select feature... I can get it to scroll, and switch between crates/songs in crates... but when I move down the list it goes one at a time, but when i turn the nob the other way it automatically shoots up to the top of the list. Driving me crazy, am I missing something?

    thanks again.
