  • This is one reason why there needs to be a model railroad museum (if there isn't one already that I don't know about). Pieces of great layouts need to be preserved in such a place, perhaps Kalbach's building?

  • Thanks for sharing these vids of Mr. Barrow's former layout... This particular version of the CM&SF was certainly one of my favorites! He's been a huge influence over my modeling ever since seeing one of his early versions of the CM&SF in Railroad Model Craftsman (he was still running steam, in fact...). I only wish I were fortunate enough to see it in person, too!

  • love the background steel guitar music.

  • I dont want to meet David, just all the people that made this great layout possible! Especially the guy who painted the backdrop, I guess Dave was just the brain behind it. He never modeled an ATSF unit? So sad, thats the fun in enjoying the hobby, not just the technical design of building it from plywood etc.. Correct me if I am wrong....

  • Gee, too bad you weren't there when they were running trains!!

  • The Cat Montain & Santa Fe has always been my favorite model railroad since I first saw it in Model Railroader Magizine in the 1980s.

  • thanks anyway
