miss the good old times playing on the n64...remember when the game would freeze and you had to blow into the cartridge..or games not saving properly ...good old times being a 90's kid

the extra ram did make a difference. you can see it in all the lighting dk64 has.

I bought the Japanese version today, but i have to mod my n64 to play it. The cartridge won't fit into the inserter, so i'm kind of dissapointed, even though i mod the n64 all the time.I also got pokemon colloseum 2, Japanese import.

nintendo needed some boost to fight the dreamcast and the upcomming ps2, so their later gen n64 games like dk64, perfect dark and majora's mask supported (and required) the memory expansion. banjo-tooie and conker's bad fur day didn't support it, though.

You don't need a memory card to save DK64, it saves on the cartridge genius.
