Man, I wish they'd come to Australia ^__^

they wouldn't be reviving the "shoegazing" genre if they wasn't you know shoegazing LOL. They are more focused on the music for an album launch. As for Metallica and such they may put 1000% into their live performances but definatly not writing.

they've found El Sonido Nuevo.

this is getting me really excited! i'm seeing them in a couple weeks! thanks for this :]

you've gotta feel sorry for indie fans lol, having to put up with this kind of form live. (then again, they probably don't know any better!) lol

I respect your taste (even if you like metallica...) and opinions, but when people use labels like 'indie fans' I can't really take them seriously. :-)
The horrors are one of the greatest bands around, if you're too prejudiced to notice, I feel sorry for you.

hey I try to not be prejudiced, honest! I've been checking out the horrors after hearing that 'sea within a sea', which i thought was pretty interesting. But everything else I've heard from them is just generic indie durge, and the fact is that even crusty old men like Metalllica, Maiden and AC/DC put in 1000% more energy and effort and showmanship live than these guys. I think they are just living off the 'cool' factor instead of making genuine effort and pushing their talent.

I've seen videos of Faris (the singer) climbing on a balcony during a gig, he often goes offstage and sings among the crowd. They used to have a different approach towards live shows in their previous tours, now they are more still but it goes well with the songs of their new album, seeing them jumping up and down during the new songs would ruin the atmosphere.
My view on their talent is quite different from yours: Strange House and Primary Colours shows that there's much more than skinny jeans
