How-to make Korean-style Kalbi. Visit www.summerkitchen.tv to experience a new video cookbook with delicious summertime recipes, perfect for your picnic basket or backyard BBQ table.

Ingredients
4 lbs of beef short ribs
6 garlic cloves, minced
1 onion, minced
1 cup of brown sugar
4 tsp of ground pepper
2/3 cup of soy sauce
1/4 cup of sesame oil


Instructions
1. To a large bowl, combine garlic, onion, brown sugar, and black pepper and mix.
2. To the same bowl, add soy sauce and sesame oil and mix.
3. Now add the short ribs and toss to marinate add the meat.
4. Marinate for 30 minutes or up to 1 day.
5. Preheat the grill to medium heat.
6. Cook the meat for 2-3 minutes on each side.

    but we don't use the grill. we use the stove.

    and the background music sooooo doesn't match with the korean tradition. we use traditional drums and ladies singing in the background. the background music is too ancient china like. and i know cuz i'm korean. :D

  • you can use grounded pear and apple instead of so much sugar. Little bit of grounded kiwi make the meat softer.

  • whats up with the weird chinese background music??? this is Korean food...plus the sam jang at the end doesn't look like real korean sam jang and we don't use that kind of lettuce...altho it is possible to eat it that way, sam jang and lettuce is usually for samgyupsal...
