she was my favourite alexandra too!! apparently she left the show,for personal reasons i.e. she didnt like the way she was handled by cbs and the guilding light bosses..shame for them..she was and it will be the real alexandra spaulding!

When I was growing up, I remember my grandmother watching Guiding Light and the one character that always stood out and fascinated me was Alexandra Spaulding as did the actress who portrayed her....Beverlee McKinsey, she was elegant, articulate, beautiful, and talented. When Ms. McKinsey left GL, Alexandra left with her, regardless of whether or not they chose to recast...you simply can not recast perfection.

I agree 100%. Beverlee made GL in the 80s. She was one of the best actresses to ever be on soaps. She was one of a kind.
