This clip is from the 1952 film Zaman al 3agayeb starring Egyptian actress Samiha Tawfik in the role of a girl who worked as a servant. In this scene she has left her place of employment and has found work as a dancer in a club. Samiha Tawfik appeared in over 64 films. She was mainly an actress but also danced in many films. She was a cousin of Naima Akef's though she often said that Naima did not help her to get started in show business but rather, Taheya Carioca was the one who helped her. Same7a's father was a lion trainer in a travelling circus and his family travelled with him. Same7a was discovered by Joseph Wahbi when she was 14. She was only given acting roles at first but when it became apparent that she could also dance, she began to recieve dancing parts as well. Same7a Tawfeek was born in 1928 and died in August of 2010.
