yup thats true but what the heck do you know about that? i trained with him a few times but ultimately with avi rokah for a long time. but yes i agree it is a way of life.

Nishiyama sensei died 11/07/08 - R.I.P. sensei & thank you...

The day he was supposed to give a seminar on the oregon coast he died.
I am truly sad that he passed away. I don't know where the aakf will go now...

Nishiyama Sensei's eye darkened with age. Unfortunately, it was revealed to me today, 9/11/08, that Sensei is in the hospital with advanced lung cancer. It is too bad and he will be missed in the world of real karate, which, is actually relatively small.

Sensei's left eye is darker reportedly from an old injury, but it was NOT done by Sensei Funakoshi.

I don't believe Master Funakoshi would have done such a thing. Not intentionally any way. He was a gentleman.

How can you say it's offensively worthless? The speed and precision of an attack is essential in Shotokan. Shotokan karateka prefer to counter but that doesn't mean they can't attack.

Sensai Nishiyama is probably one of the only karate master who show how to dodge. I pratic karate, judo and Jun Fan's Jeet Kune Do, when I dodge my karate sensai ask me to do 10 to 100 push-up!!! Dodge its the best defensive way, better then block, when you block you start 2nd. Nishiyama is also the only master I have seen who use scientific research & knowledge to improve a technic or a training. He was also the only master who was respected by Bruce Lee.
