lol, the food doesn't look so appetizing.

i myself is a thai chef and those pad se-ew and pad thai looked utterly tasteless.

And yes your right about giving lime when serving pad-thai. the lime gives it a citrus aroma to the noodles. Generally pad-thai is like a sweet, sour with a hint of salty taste to it.

Good to hear advice from a real chef! It was so awful! But, they've closed down now so I guess it wasn't just us that didn't enjoy it!

i just wonder...are you guys comparing this restaurant with a thai restaurant in Thailand or a thai restaurant in Canada?

cuz im pretty sure that those exotic resturants in you country must have been localized as well...ah, yes, this review is supposed to be for westerners. then what authenticity are you talking about? you mean, the authenticity of thai food in north america? well, i like your vids so much, i just found it's kind a funny you guys talking about THAI food's authenticity.

We're comparing it to the experiences we have had with Thai restaurants in Toronto (Canada).

For example, you can't call it curry without curry powder, and you can't call it dukboggi without red pepper paste. In this case, this food was lacking typical Thai spices: lime, cilantro, and chillies.

Considering Korea is closer to Thailand than Canada is, I was disappointed not to have these flavours in my dish.

I know! I was totally crushed! You know when you really really have an urge for a certain food? That was me that day, and I was do disappointed. BUT I will say, many people in Korea have given us advice regarding better Thai food restaurants so we'll have to visit them.

Actually, we didn't say Thai food sucks. We love Thai food. We said THIS restaurant doesn't know how to make Thai food, probably since the cooks and owners weren't from Thailand, so their food sucks.

But it really doesn't matter anymore because this restaurant is now closed down.

Ive been to a sala Thai in la and there food isn't that great cuz my mom wanted to eat there cuz my aunt said it was good an she was dissapointed with most of our food -_-

even that expensive stuff seems cheap compared to Australia. I went out with friends the other night and ended up paying $20 for a hamburger with some fries and a Cola. Things like McDonalds are cheaper, but if you want a really good hamburger that doesn't seem over processed and has a decent amount of sauce and salad you will pay for it. The other things on the menu were things like Ribs for $34, steak $25 etc etc.

There's a Sala Thai in Vancouver too... and I heard it's only mediocre. But Thai food is pretty popular here even if it's not great
