11th June 2009 13:45: The Welsh Highland Railway journey through the stunning Aberglaslyn Pass, first over the new bridge, along the pass by the Afon Glaslyn, through the two short tunnels and finally into the long tunnel. The are a few jerky edits but I hope this sets the scene for this stunning journey.

  • Nice taster of things to come! We've been FR members since '77 and now with the WHR you just can't do anything but love it - this part is more than just the icing on the cake. Went from Rydd DDu to Caenarfon and back in '07 and can't wait to go again on the rest. One thing though - does all that fencing actually acheive anyhthing do you think??!!

  • Cheers. Cant say I actually noticed the fencing until you mentioned it, luckily on the day I was too awe inspired with the scenery, as it was my first trip.

  • Cheers. This was my first trip on Welsh narrow gauge, it was the most stunning train journey I have been on, the tight curves and then the Aberglaslyn Pass. Looking forward to going back when services start running all the way to Portmadog.
