  • the rivet gun in the video look the like hammer gun use in auto shop. any different beside the driving head??? Thank for the tutorial.

  • @h23sirlude -- Aircraft rivet guns usually have a much lower impact force than a hammer gun, and a shorter stroke. This prevents damage to the skin of an aircraft, which is quite a bit thinner than the skin of the average automobile.

  • Is it possible to use aluminum pop rivets instead of this type of attachment?

  • @1955thekeeper -- There are certain structures in airplanes that use blind rivets ("pop rivets"). The kit manufacturer will specify where they may be used. Some models do use a lot more than others. The Vans RV aircraft use mostly "driven" rivets like what you see in the video.
