Thanx man, that book was a fantastic example of purpose driven life and evangelical sub-culture, as you mentioned it does have a lot of great facts and i was driven into reading this point of view and the points this New testament scholar provides the reader with is truly great. Again, thanx for that wonderful book review and if you have any more books you would like to recommend to someone like me who truly is moved by such a novel with so many interesting points just post another video.

"religion is a by-product of fear"
as humans we always turn to something or someone for comfort..

I just finished RDL.
Dr. Price is nice. He throws down some pokes to the folks, who only want Jesus to please us. It a funny book, give it a look. It'll hook you up, look you up, bust you up, but never rust you up. Think with your reason or you're dealin' high treason. Bob links it in, and lands it on your chin.
Borrows immensly from Eric Hoffer. That's good. As well Buddhist lit. It's diverse.
And of course, Bible, and Thomas.
Good work Bob!!

This is a fantastic book. It saddened me to reach the end. Perhaps in my case Dr. Price was preaching to the choir in some respects, but many points still gave this skeptic food for thought, and spawned an ever-increasing reading list spanning Nietzsche through Mark (again).
p77 By the way, do you see what I'm NOT arguing for here? I am sharing some helpful wisdom from Buddhism, but I'm not suggesting that if you see the truth of it, you ought to go the whole way & convert to Buddhism. Why should you have to? Think of individual Bible, Stoic, Buddhist, etc, insights as delicious fruits on various trees in an orchard. you don't have to swallow the whole darned tree to eat the fruit ! Nor is anything stopping you from picking fruit from several of the trees.

@zytigon
You are quite correct in pointing out there is wisdom to be found in these books written by people.
One has only to test the insights with reason and not get caught up in imagining these truths are necessarily divine in origin.

You bought the book?
Get a refund.
The Bible is always infallible.
Robby P. brings nothing of substance to the table.
He needs to get saved.
