Love the way this one jumps - Jimmy Blanton's bass playing right on top of the rhythm, keeping 'em that way.

  • Recorded on March 15, 1940, during the same session featuring "Concerto For Cootie".

  • OH yeah, now we're gettin' into Duke's 1940-41 Victor stuff... LOVE em ALL!... 5 stars!

  • The chord changes borrow heavily from "Just Friends" and the orchestration and rhythmic groove heark back to Ellington's sound of 1932-34. Guess the Duke was waxing nostalgic when he put that one together.
