olsynth is featured on the Damon Albarn Gorillaz latest album "The Fall" (made completely with iPad apps) . I hope you like the app as much as his awesome music.

olsonvox, an iPhone and iPad development lab, has released olsynth 1.0. This intuitively designed musical instrument app for the the iPad brings a monophonic dual oscillator synth sound to the iPad. Users can now bring virtually infinite sound design possibilities with them anywhere.

By manipulating the seven flip-scrollable pages of settings displayed on the top half of the iPad screen, users can design limitless variations of electronic synthesized musical tones. A slide-able 5 octave range musical keyboard on the bottom half of the iPad screen allows the user to play olsynth. The settings on olsynth can also be manipulated while playing allowing the user to create their own unique live electronic music performances.

"I really wanted to design a user interface that is simple and easy to interact with. olsynth has a powerful sound engine to produce virtually limitless sound designs and it has a straight forward interface that is clean and beautiful" said Daniel Blade Olson, president. "I have produced, launched, and sold thousands of computer and electronics products throughout my career. One thing I have learned is to keep it is simple and clean. I love interfaces that have just as many features as they need. olsynth fits this design principle very well."

olsynth features include:
* Dual oscillator with 4 waveforms / Glide
* Oscillator frequency fine tune
* Modulation
* Filter Module
* Envelope — volume
* Envelope — filter

  • Just another quick thought...this is just a port of mobile synth which is a free open source app the only thing the guy added was the record. Is that worth adding $7 to the price of free? There are about 10 synths on the app store that all use the same source code as the open source app mobile synth and these developers might be taking advantage of users that might not know what is up. Just my own POV

  • Sounds just like every other synth app. I think the cuurent price of $.99 is good but for $6.99 I think it a little much. I think the release of GarageBand has killed a lot of the music apps sales. We need to see something great to make it worth buying. Look at xenon synth. That app is just like nano studio minus the sampler,pad editor,and smaller editing details but only $5 that's a whole lot of synth for the money. This app just seems a little limited for what he's aski. Not saying it's a bad

  • Really cool app! Thank you!
