Before we begin, I would like to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for my life, and all the gifts which I've been given in it, including the ability to make this extension. Your name be glorified, my Savior, even in something as small as this. Amen.

"Thinking of you, wherever you are. We pray for our sorrows to end, and hope that our hearts will blend. Now I will step forward to realize this wish."

Dearly beloved, we are gathered this day to witness the beginning of Amateur Extension Theater 2000's latest themed upload series, "Kingdom Hearts: Dearly Compendium". I'm your nostalgically wistful host, Alkahest.

Ah, Kingdom Hearts. A curious yet wonderful blending of characters from Square-Enix RPGs and Walt Disney, there was every reason to believe it would utterly and completely reek. Instead, it turned out to be the key that a door to wondrous adventure, fantasy and delight for many fans, myself included. But did it all actually begin with birth by sleep? Hardly. Rather...

It began with a letter, penned by the noble liege of Disney Castle, Mickey Mouse. Having observed the darkening night sky and recognizing the significance of stars -- each representative of different worlds -- winking out of existence, one by one, he set forth on a journey to seek their salvation. At the same time, childhood friends Sora, Riku and Kairi were planning an expedition of their own on Destiny Islands. But dark forces were on the move as well, seeking those whom they could turn, or completely devour. Now it is time for the Keyblade's Chosen to step forward: to help realize a wish to banish the darkness, and to open the door...

Composed by Yoko Shimomura, 'Dearly Beloved' plays at the title screen of Kingdom Hearts. It is easily the simplest of all Dearly Beloved themes, and yet, could possibly be the most beautiful for it. There's an innocence and tranquility to it; a depth that its subsequent remakes lack, though that does not mean I think them poorly written or unpleasant to listen to. Perhaps it's just me, but sometimes, there is an elegance in simplicity... ah, well. A rose by any other name, eh?

Coming up next... why, it's more Dearly Beloved, of course! A welcome reprise, and then, dear viewer, do take care you not get tangled up in the chains of memory. Tomorrow, another set of three Dearly Beloved variations from Kingdom Hearts II and 358/2 Days, with three more from Coded, Birth By Sleep, and even Dream Drop Distance to follow the day after. I hope you'll enjoy this little compilation of mine; do take care, and may God bless.

Not to break a perfectly good moment of peace and all, but why exactly did Sora have a half-eaten raw fish hanging out of his mouth, anyway?
