I rose my hand...Jesus came to bring rebirth, but not only just that, but a life abundant. We are saved by his grace..and we have the power of the holy spirit inside of us..to what?..to work in the kingdom of God..Monday through Sunday....Living like Jesus, and to live out our call..To love GOD, and to love OTHERS...Jesus says we will do greater things than he's down..were not better than Jesus, but to be called to live like Jesus were called to live like him.

These guys are just mad because a lot of folks are serving God, laying hands on real needs when they're sitting on their butt. Instead of a blue-hair playing organ we're singing with a guitar and reading the NEW king jimbo. The rhetoric of "conjuring" and "divination" is silly; and the statement "no prophet ever did anything to get in touch with god" is certainly wrong. That was their job; Solomon's wisdom was achieved in an intentionally sought vision called incubated dream-divination. So?

God is not a physical being, but we are. That's in part why God became incarnate!
He made God visible to us. To equate any use of the senses in worship with divination is silly. Hearing is a sense--thus the emphasis of some scripture passages on hearing the Gospel. Baptism and communion are sensible, incarnate expressions of faith.
The bottom line is to love God and love your neighbor. That is the ultimate test.

BUT: In singing praise to God or reading His Word or meditating on His Word or praying to Him or when being still to know He is God (I am not talking about emptying your mind, but You are thinking about God and His goodness), I have encountered Him, and I have felt His Presence! Keep it Biblical, that's all that's necessary! We don't need yoga, grounding, labyrithns, etc. etc. to encounter God. Those who seek HIM will find Him when they seek with ALL THEIR HEART. No "icons" needed!!!

The Bible commands us to contend for or defend the faith once delivered to us (see Jude). We are to be aware of those creeping in unawares....When they are using yoga and others things from Eastern religions, this is wrong! We are not to have other gods before Him. The Israelites were told to destroy the idols and breakdown the high places. These guys are welcoming the doctrines of demons(pratices of New Age, occult and Eastern religions) right into the church!
It's NOT about feelings!

I have searched for a WAY to feel God; however, all I got was a positive feeling that never lasted, just like a pep rally. I have found that I can find God and experience Him by study of His word, meditation on it, and IT alone, and by prayer from the heart. God gave us the scripture to tell us about Him, that's where we can find Him. So, I stopped seeking out new ways of worship. True worship is not about making me feeling good or God's presence but rather just ascribing honor and glory to God.

Oh, yes of course, the old argument that "you're misinformed", or that you're refuting a false form of the real thing...I think you are trying to shift the burden of proof here, you have to show from the Bible that the "emerging church" is biblical. I've seen lots of quotes and info from the emerging chuch leaders that demonstrate that it is off track from what God teaches in the Bible.

God does not need us, but He exhorts us to "earnestly contend for the faith" (Jude 1:3).
Furthermore, those who criticize people who they think are misunderstanding the Emerging Church are also defending their "faith"....so they are obviously just being very hypocritical by complaining about those who defend the Bible. I don't know if Emerging Church followers are blind to this hypocrisy or what, but it sure is sad.
I respectfully disagree. God appeared to Solomon and asked him what He could give him. (1 Kings 3:5-15) The prophets also were called by God to be prophets. They didn't have to do anything to reach out to God.
Contrary to what the Emergent church would have you believe there are many people outside of their group that do good works for their fellow man. The true Christian does them because Jesus saved them. Not so that He will save them.

As a young Christian, I've greatly disturbed by the "emerging church" movement. Do Christians need to help with poverty? Yes. Do we need to get out more and evangelize? Yes. But it is frankly arrogant for the emerging church to say that they have this down right. When I read the authors of the movement, they make a call for communism (minus the torture I'd hope) and apply their ideas to economics and things that they know nothing about.
