An outdoor (un-rehearsed) performance of Pete Myer's great arrangement of Cole Porter's composition "Love for Sale" featuring Jay Corre on tenor sax with Dick Cully and his Big Band paying tribute to the late Buddy Rich at Young Circle Park, Hollywood, Florida. Solos: Jason Carder - trumpet, Jim Hayward - alto sax.
This was a chart that Louie Bellson obtained from Pete Myers who was a trombonist and obviously one talented arranger. Louie gave Buddy this chart when his rock and roll Vegas big band closed after two weeks with Professor Irwin Cory...............Jay was on that band. Also listen to the "lick" he plays at about 3:57....identical to his Big Swing Face solo back in 66
Jim was featured at my jazz concert today, It was a treat to hear him play
