Leccion de Timbas-Tumbao Basico de Salsa, Son, etc. 4/4
Variacion del Tumbao Moderno o "La Marcha" con el Maestro de Timbas David Ortiz "La Mole".
The modern Tumbao is one of, if not the most common conga rhythms played for all types of music in 4/4. There are many variations of the basic tumbao, including playing the tumba on the 3-side of the clave.
This pattern the tumba is played on the 2 side, the clave is accented by playing a solid 4th beat/"Ponche" on the 3 side of the clave.
Pay close attention to hand position on the drum.
This basic tumbao pattern is played on every 8th-beat in the measure in the following sequence: notice the slaps being placed on the 1 and 2 on the first bar or 2 side of the clave..

When will we see you in Thailand? That would be great for Thailand's conga player.
