Listen to before and after High Fidelity on this brilliant RCA Victor "New Orthophonic" recording. Now being played on my 1975 GE Wildcat portable stereo record player.

Mozart: Symphony #39, in E-Flat: 4th Movement - Arturo Toscanini and the La Scala Orchestra, Milan (Old Recording)

Schubert: Symphony #9, in C: 4th Movement (Excerpt) - Arturo Toscanini and the NBC Symphony Orhestra ("New Orthophonic" High Fidelity Recording)

  • Toscanini butchered Schubert's music. Much to brisk. Mechanical. What's the rush? Compare with Furtwangler and you will see what I mean.

  • theres an orb at about 57 seconds. flys fright across the black back of the stereo

  • Nice comparisons and video series.
