hi mate,im thinking of getting 1 of these this weekend,ive been using the realistic dx-394b for a while with a home made 100 foot long wire made from cb coax opend up and the earth wire one way and feed wire the other,witch worked well,,could you tell me how much better the frg is compared to the 394?..cheers mate,,atb,,wayne.

@arkitype66 I have mine connected to my 75 meter doublet and works well. You could try a long wire or buy an indoor active antenna.I believe the FRG 7700 had an accessory called the FRA-7700. They show up on ebay every once in awhile

At the time I believe it was connected to my 75 meter doublet, fed with ladder line)

Hi I had a FRG7700 in the past but I found it was not very sensitive and overloaded easily(comparison with ICR 70).The FRG7 is better although it has one selectivity.Now I use 2 FRG7 and an ICR70 and a JRC NRD 525.DXEUR 77

I had an icom R71A, and yes that was more sensitive and great on SSB, but for some reason I prefer the audio on AM better on the FRG7700. I miss my Drake R8A, though which had great audio and a bunch of bandwidths for selectivity.
