Styx takes the stage with an introduction and leads into Miss America. This was taken from the balcony at the Star Plaza Theatre on January 24, 2009.

***NO NEGATIVE POSTINGS FROM "DENNIS ONLY" PEOPLE - THEY WILL BE DELETED. This is for the enjoyment of everyone who enjoys the current Styx lineup the way it is. While I personally prefer the current Styx without Dennis, I am also a fan of the classic Styx. Please don't post a comment just to take a stab at the current lineup.

I am warning ahead of time after seeing other Styx videos on YouTube get overtaken by people who have nothing better to do than complain about Dennis not being in the lineup.

Great video (: I like this recording a lot, turned out nice.

As far as the lineup, I don't see how there can be any complaints. It was such a long time ago that DeYoung moved on, and I think Gowan does fantastic at covering everything DeYoung did. He certainly is just as much of a showman as ddy was, and though he's not exactly like him, it makes him original rather than following so closely to the original.

Davidm8985.................Aft­er reading your preface to the video, I felt I had to respond. I am not here to bash this current edition of Styx, I do not think this is anywhere close to Styx, but that is not the point. You seem to be missing the point with your post. Die-hard Styx fans, and most of us are in our 50s now, do not accept this current lineup.

Here's the point: This is a public forum, maybe in your spare time, you should consider that.

If people don't accept this as the current styx thats fine. I just don't want my videos to turn into a debate forum like others on youtube. If you don't like this lineup or gowan, or any of the new guys, thats cool and feel free to speak it. When it turns into nothing but trash talk then that's when I will start deleting comments. I respect the fact that the older generation likes the original lineup. I'm only 24 and was won over to styx by one of the new guys - Todd Sucherman.

It is more Styx than ever before, we all respect ddy but it is time to move past that stage and love who they are now.

@Ilovewyatt01: Hmph....Im 40, and have to heartily disagree. At a meet and greet, I met ddy, and he was a pretentious prick with a huge ego. His ego killed his career. The new guys are more than gracious.Oh, and Tommy is 56 years old.

I like the current line up as well. All are very talented musicians and you can never go wrong with that! Much of what Dennis DeYoung brought to the original Styx lineup was also their undoing and attributed to their loss of popularity in their hayday. DDY has a great voice, but like many other great voices he also has an ego to match it. You can tell that JY was no fan of DDY if you watch any of his interviews. I think some can be found here on youtube.

Seriously- DDY's been out of the band now for HOW MANY YEARS? Get over it already. I DO miss Burtnik though. I miss Dennis too, but it really doesn't take away from the present line up. If you like Dennis, go see him. There's room for both. Gowan's killer player and deserves kudos for that. He's not as great a vocalist as Dennis, but who is? Still, he's a good singer and writer. I like what he brings to the party for sure.
