Paradise in Antigua

This beautiful, restful beach is on Soldier's Bay in Antigua. I look at this video when I need a stress break from work. My husband and I were there just two weeks ago.

I visit alot of places and to me Antigua has the most beautiful beaches in the world, Ive been there recently and trust me there is nothing to worry about

ok, maybe not a "dump". but after spending a few days traveling to different parts of this island, my "experience" with it is that there are much nicer islands to be on. The common knowledge from visiting with the locals (ie. hotel staff and other) is to be careful on the east side because after the last hurricane destroyed a good part of that side of the island, the local drug gangs have taken it over and just make sure you don't go traveling about by yourself. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

i dissagree its far from a dump ,,,and i stayed on the eastern side ..didnt hear anything about crime....not a peep...i recomend it...

antigua is not a dump..i was there up till last week it is so beautifull and idk wat ur talking bout crime cuz i went every and anywhere and had no problems with nobody dude....

yeah, as I mentioned, for antigua, stick to the main "tourist" beaches like dickinson bay or such and you WILL have a nice time. It's just that the island as a whole I would consider towards the bottom of our island experiences. (example- I could walk around st. thomas and feel right at home)

Really....wow, that stinks. Was planning on going there in October for my Honeymoon. guess all those islands are going to have bad areas and bad people. All the videos on youtube look like there is noone ever on the beaches and it looks deserted??

I agree that antigua has nice beaches but I was just there a month ago and the island as a whole is a dump. It's adrift in crime and I would not go anywhere on it, especially the eastern side, unless there's quite a few other people around. Stick to the beaten paths on this island is all I'm saying.

I hope you go there some day! I've been to the Caymans as well, but I was really knocked out by the beauty of Antigua. Happy travels!
