Katie Maguire: Graduate Student with PKU Fulfills Her Dreams

Katie Maguire, now 24-years old, was diagnosed with PKU at birth. She grew up in Cornwall, New York and followed her diet diligently. As she entered her teen years, managing her diet and drinking formula became more challenging. She began experiencing moodiness and difficulty concentrating. Katie tells her story about when she realized that her diet was connected to her behavior. She talks about completing college, and how lowering her levels has helped her to achieve her personal and professional goals. Katie is currently a teacher and graduate student studying special education and literacy.
