Some folk have questioned why they never appeared on the Band Aid single, the pig-ignorant media were too quick to accuse them of disinterest, attributing to their eventual colossal fall by a fickle record-buying public.
Truth was, they had already committed themselves to a World Tour in '85/'86, and were preparing for this event intensely, as imagined. Geldorf and MidgeUre had their egos bruised by ZTT's refusal to allow them to appear, hence the backlash against the best band of the '80's.
It's still virtually unbelievable, nearly 25 years on, that this single never hit the top. (It peaked at No2) A victim of ever-diminishing returns. Begin at the top, and only one way to go, and all that...
Regardless, this Frankie track was one of the best of '85, and didn't deserve to be second fiddle to Phil Collins/Bailey.
FGTH deserved a fourth No1, and Easy Lover, whilst a great pop track, should always be remembered for beginning the downward spiral of the greatest band of the '80's.
