Aug 2004 What happens when those who've grown up on Hollywood war movies and graphic video games are sent to the frontline?
"It's the ultimate rush -- you're going into the fight with a good song playing in the background," states one soldier. This is a war fought by the first playstation generation. As Rolling Stones journalist Evan Wright explains: "One thing about them is they kill very well in Iraq."

Yeah. Largest in terms in infantry and out of date soviet crap. Worse, their navy sucks. Their 'huge army' isn't going nowhere when they're surrounded by mountains, desert, and ocean.
Japan doesn't even have a military force. They have a self-defense force. And it is most certainly NOT more technologically advanced then ours.
This guy may have spent "some time" in Iraq, but even the author of "Generation Kill" falls FAR short of understanding the soldier culture.
Instead he's capitalized on a very small niche of fighters who fit this bizzaro-misfit theme he's arranged for his book. 2 tours in Iraq, and I can count on 1 finger how many times I've listened to music while conducting any type of major operation. Listen to radio x-missions and contact reports is too crucial. This video is fail.
This documentary acts as if they are immune to the effects of war because of US social conditioning and acculturation to violence. That may be true on the field, but they often tell a different tale when they are removed from the combat zone. The effects of PSTD, physical and emotional trauma, substance abuse issues, marital problems, readjustment problems, and that "feeling funny" phenomenon many report once home tell a different tale. Contact your local VA office if the above applies to you.

--Yah there is you turd, gang warfare involves shitty aim, drive-bys, occasion fisticuff riots, pistols and maybe a TEK9 or 2.
--Baghdad fighting features AK47s, RPKs, RPGs, Snipers, IED's, mortars and rockets and full scale tactical ambushes by enemy fireteams.
The 2 don't even fucking compare. I've seen so called "gangsters" cower in fear when face with real combat
