I've been in Japan almost a week now as an ALT in the JET program. I'm located in a small town in the rural south of Japan called Amagi. Just testing out the streaming video to put up a quick vlog of my new "Jutaku" digs.

  • @MrHalohalo85 Cool, bud. How do we know each other?

  • how much do u pay for the apartment? or does the jet program pay for it?

  • @BokuWA In my region we are able to live in special apartments that are owned by the Prefecture and rented exclusively to publicly employed teaching staff. They aren't free but they're very cheap: between about $150-325 USD depending on the age of the building.

  • next time turn down the volume on tv.

  • clean your house dood if any respectable citizen of japan saw that they would be disgusted

  • get a fucking camera! i can't see anything!

  • @MrEbm - I had no teaching certification prior to applying to JET and I applied in anticipation of graduating, so i had really JUST graduated when I came to Japan. There is no official preference but I do tend to think that they like to send recent college graduates. That being said I know a handful of older JETs. It could just be that the applying demographic is mostly young.

Good luck next year! Remember the private company options too.
