Here's the text in the video, in case its scrolling too fast.

Well.... hmmm where to start... ah, I know. It started off with the horse I was leasing wasn't working out for me.

The barn I was at had other horses for lease but they were lesson horses that were ridden like 3 times a day each and that wasn't for me.

So I called up my old trainer and told her that we were interested in buying a horse. There were 4 things we told her we wanted in a horse:

1)Never Refuses
2)No Bad Habits(bucking, bolting, ect.)
3)Very Sweet, willing personality
4)Under $2,000

Anyways, she said she had some older horses that fit our "wants" but they were 16-17 ish or she had a friend that had a horse that we might like that she and a student tried out a year before that.

The next day she called us back saying the lady still had the horse and if we wanted she would have him brought to her barn to try out, she wanted to make sure he was still the same as he was the previous year(he had been on pasture for a year).

In the mean time, the barn manager at the barn I was leasing at had taken me to look at a horse dealer's horses. I saw one i like:Jade, a AQH, aprx.7 years old, 15.1 hh, $2250, trained western pleasure.

I LOVED her, I didnt care that she was trained western pleasure or was 15.1 hh. She was willing to jump. We got her doing 2 ft. her first time jumping, my first time riding her, in a western saddle. The only thing that stopped me was the price. I think she was worth $1200 ish.

So we called back my trainer and set up a time to go try him out. I went with the barn manager to try him out. I had stopped by a couple days before to see him and see what he looked like. My first time riding him was horrible. I almost fell off, but it was only like his 3rd time being ridden enligsh and his second time being ridden in a year(I think one of my trainer advanced students rode him to see if he was the same as last time my trainer saw him).

What made me come back and try him again was when she said he was just like one of her jumper ponys but bigger. The pony she was talking about was like 14.2 hh and could do high childrens jumpers. When she said that I was like "Holy Sh*t, this horse can jump, lol.

My next ride was much better. We jumped a lot and he was very good.

My mom had checked me out of school early for my 3rd ride and when we had the vet check done , it would be the only day I would get to ride him before next week because my trainer had a out of town show to do. He passed the pre-purchase exam,
He was a little sore from the cranking up but only because he hadn't been ridden for a year and the vet said work him back into shape, lightly riding for the first couple weeks. After that we paid for him, and my trainer said she would bring him to my barn the next week.

The next week my dad and I met my trainer at the barn, sunday afternoon and we got him :) I was so happy when she unloaded him from the trailer and when I was handed his papers. Oh ya, his name WAS coco but I re-named him tobi.

I didn't ride him the first day, I groomed him in his stall and let him settle in.

I trailered him to my trainers barn for lessons. My first moths of having him before I switched barns were H*ll. I hated tobi. I couldn't do much with him, except jump but even that was a hassle.

I was a green rider having only been riding 6 months before I got tobi. Tobi was an ex-mexican racehorse so he was really fast and hyper. Not to mention I was really the only person to ever ride him english.

When we switched barns it seemed like tobi's personality altered. He was sweet, loving, and I could consider him "hunterish", slow, not rushing ect. New trainer!

Our next barn tobi was horrible. Worse than ever. I almost sold him. I was back with the trainer who found me tobi.

We switched barns again tobi was bad when I rode him at that barn but when I trailer to my trainers he was good.

When my trainer had an opening we moved there and tobi was good. We remained there for a year before switching yet again.

This is the barn I'm currently at. I LOVE it. New trainer again. lol. Tobi is going through training and is doing very well. We've had some very good results at shows and I think we've finally found our place :)
