3 factors that give Kangal the advantage are size, power, and the coat it wears, very good protection a pit would have to sink that bite in pretty deep for it to be effective. BTW I don't support dog fighting just stating the obvious here...We have a kangal pup where I work and its the cutest damn thing. I also have a pit named Ares(cause of when he was born not god of war..) and hes awesome ill post a vid sometime in the near future.

@mohsian2 Not a fan of dog fighting but watched a video once where a rather large pit squared off against a kangal (I think) and the pit went right for the throat. He got a good hold but the kangal, through training I suspect, just layed on top of the pit and pretty much suffocated him out within minutes. When the handlers broke them apart the kangal walked away with some nasty cuts to the floppy skin under his neck but the pit had to be carried away as it appeared dead.

@mohsian2 A lot of it depends on the fight experience and gameness of the dog at hand. Kangals are VERY powerful dogs who have been known to take down mountain lions and bears. That's pretty epic. However, bigger and stronger does not always mean a better fighter. It also means slower, not as agile, and clumsier. Where as the Pitbull is FAST, agile, and has dead on aim. I once witnessed a 35 pound Pitbull take down an adult Bull Mastiff, all because the dog was to slow. It depends on the dog.

@jurkowsky Well This kangal is not even half of the size of the real kangals and boz shepherds. As a breeder I havent seen a match for Kangals. BTW I ve seen every breed and only breed that is close to these guys are TOSA INU and CAUCASION MOUNTAIN DOG. Pitbulls are not even in the same category. Think like boxing.
