QQFM is a series of quick questions for Mormons (hence the name) and other interest parties to ponder. The answers to the questions just might be a little more revealing than most Mormons would want to admit.
Not all Mormons get mad for that...I don't mind...but we rather be called members of the church of Jesus christ of latter day saints...in that way the world finally will understand that we believe in Jesus too
Mormons generally prefer to be referred to as Latter-day Saints, although the term Mormon is generally acceptable if it is not used in a derogatory sense. We also prefer that our Church be called by its full name, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or the Church of Jesus Christ, the LDS Church, or simply the Church. Never the "Mormon Church."
@awolLDSasap Ah were I looked up that Jehovah speaks as Elohim wasn't a Mormon reference it was from Hebrew translator. If you want I can give you references I will have to go through the work of finding it again. But I also showed where angels took the place of Christ they spoke as Christ himself were speaking. Same goes for when Christ spokes as his Father. He spoke as if he was his Father speaking. Oh and I should say when one of my kids throws a tantrum I put them in time out.
I don't know really but the name of the church officially has been, "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I think most mormons are trying to shake the fundamentalist stereotype and teachings. If a Mormon says they're Christian and believes Jesus is their savior, then we should welcome them rather than doing the unChristian thing of 'remembering evil' and not 'forgiving others'. I'd think it's worst to say to a group of people they aren't Christian and exclude them than to accept.
@BOON70 If I looked it up where? At "Mormon bore me to death dot org" I would know that Mormons knew it before Britannica? Are you blind? Elohim. first known use 1617. I'm outa here. I have this bad habit of leaving posts that are filled with bragging and have become incredibly annoying. It's just the way I am. Have it your way, brag away...
Again. There is evidence for the Bible. The Word of God has revealed that faith consists of substance and evidence. Comparing Biblical verse to Josephs stories, Josephs stories end with zero credibility. Father in heaven was never a mortal with a body, Jesus is not a spirit brother and you have no priesthood power from God. You rely on a priesthood invented by Joseph, a god who is not real and have been led to believe the cross of Calvery is a foolish Roman execution device. You are perishing.
@BOON70 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word Was God. Let this mind be in you... / in / Jesus: Who, being in the Form of God, thought it Not Robbery to be Equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon him the Form of a Servant, and was Made in the Likeness of men: So, "God" "the Word" became flesh, to glorify God the Father. The "Word of God" created all things, seen and unseen. The Infinite Creator of all things cannot be a spirit brother to anyone.
I am perfectly willing to call them Latter day Saints.
All I ask is that they refer to me as a Former Day Saint.
Why don't they just call it "The Church of Joseph Smith"?
Anyway:
