September 11, 2001 was, in my opinion, the darkest day in American/World history. At the time, my younger son was still in elementary school. The kids in his school wanted to do something to help the families of the victims... and so they collected coins in firemen's boots...
In early October 2001, the school held an assembly where they sang patriotic songs, and in a beautiful symbolic ceremony, they presented to local firemen more than $3,000 they'd donated for the families of 9/11 victims. I was honored to be asked by the principal to be part of this assembly by photographing/videotaping it and assembling this slideshow (TO VIEW IT, CLICK BELOW!). A copy of this video was sent to New York along with the money the children donated.
I feel this slideshow not only serves to remember those who lost their lives on that fateful day, but also as witness to the love and generosity of our children. They are our future. Peace and love to you all, this day and every day of your future!!
Hugs...
