@OnkyoEU OK thankyou im sorry im a noob but i am getting my first system with onkyo amp :)

@OnkyoEU I looked at my manual and my receiver can support bi-amping. I have connected the speakers to the A+B selectors and it works perfectly. I have also made sure the ohms haven't dropped under 4 ohms, so i know its safe. Thankyou very much for your instructions and for posting this video..

I just love your accent! =) Man, you sound exactly like Roy Trenneman from The IT Crowd! Check it out! Thanks for the explanation, it was very easy to understand, well done (Roy)! ;)

@LetsPlay360andPC Hi, there is no fortunately no need to 'calculate' anything - if your speakers have 8 ohms, just set the AVR to 8 ohms speakers, too.

This is a brilliant and simple video. I have got A+B selectors for the main front speakers on my receiver. Can i connect my B&W speakers mid range to A and low range to B? Will this work? I just want to make sure I am doing it right. Thanks and I subscribed :)

@XxKYFERxX Hi, your receiver will need to have support for bi-amping - please check with the manual of your avr or stereo receiver if a bi-amping configuration is supported.

I've just bought a 609 which supports biwiring, as do my speakers so I guess I'll give this a try.
Question - When I connect my sub (which can share the front outputs) do I connect it the posts which are driving the bass, rather than tweeters, or doesn't it matter?

@poolehart Usually you would use bi-wiring for speakers which have separate inputs for bass and tweeters (using a bridge in a non-bi-wired configuration). If you would like to connect a sub which shares the front outputs for satellites - there is usually no need to use bi-wiring in this configuration. The sub will filter out the frequency that it supports - and passing on the other frequencies to the satellites...
