40k Battle Report: Necrons vs Tau

I have read a lot of negative press about the Necrons in 5th edition. Determined to prove that they are still at least playable, I took them to the field once more. This time, against Norau's Tau.

The game was 1500 points, Seize Ground with 3 objective markers, the Tau set up first and got first turn.

The Necron army I played actually won a tournament in 4th edition, so I was very excited to see how they would perform in 5th.

this was poor tactics by the tau player he should ev pressed harder for the objectives, and tried assaulting the kroot not shooting they're ment to be a tie up unit not a ranged unit.

Kroot are not a tie-up unit in 5th edition. With T3, Sv6+ and Ld7 they will fall to almost any opponent after the first round of combat, even Necrons. They can be used for three things: A distraction. Laying low on an objective in cover. Or bubble wrap for Broadsides.

PS: It was very much luck that gave the Necrons the victory, not my stellar tactics.

I heard the new necron codex is taking away "phase out" but also "we'll be back" i'm glad there taking out the rule that says "if you lose instantly if 25% of your guys die" but i think its a bit controversial to take out the rule that lets the undead guys come back, but the whole army is also getting "Feel no pain" so i guess we'll have to wait and see

fantastic Battle report! Seriouasly guys I reckon you do better Bat Reps than Miniwargamming. And they do very good Bat Reps. Also the epic music is also a very nice touch!
