An ABC Movie of the week from 1979 Nominated for a Golden Globe.
A mentally-challenged man and woman meet, fall in love and are determined to get married, despite the initial objections of their families and friends. Based on a true story.
The old guy at the group home is an asshole. Just because 2 people are mentally retarded doesn't mean they can't fall in love and be happy too. Roger is a lot cooler than most "normal" young men are nowadays. He went out and got a job and is trying to do everything he can to make himself a good future husband.
The movie and Saun Cassidy were nominated for Golden Globe awards. I know it's out of sync, and yes the only place to watch, so you have to glace at it to see each scene set up and watch it like a 'radio show' mostly listening. It's unfortunate be if you a fan of the movie or these performers it's the only way. I really like James Keach, who plays the brother in this, too.

I wish that the movie Bladerunner featured Roger and Virginia instead of Roy and Pris.

I think both Linda and Shaun are absolutely brilliant in this movie.
