Pretty sure the Weyewa (West Sumba) don't and never did serve dog meat to guests at big festivals. Pigs and cattle were sacrificed for ceremonial feasts. People ate/eat pork at these festivals, not dog. Ruling 'angry' men were often named in part for pigs, horses, dogs, knives, or special cloth given at the ceremonies. Today the Weyewa and other Sumbanese will give ceremonial prestige names to trucks, race horses, and businesses.
