Reaction for TOP 5 Miss Universe 2011

I don't really fancy beauty pageants. But my Twitter page was so flooded with #MissUniverse tweets that I decided to join the fad. Days before the pageant, I had been hearing that Miss Philippines would surely get into the Top 16. Yeah, that sure was believable since she was leading the online poll. Filipinos are kinda social network addicts, you know. So when the TOP 5 was announced, I was sooooooooo exhilarated! I was soooooo freakin' sure Ms. Philippines would win. I was soooooo effin' sure she's gonna nail the Q&A because she graduated Magna Cum Lauda at our country's BEST university, the University of the Philippines. She also grabbed the NUMBER 1 spot in the ARCHITECTURE Licensure Examination! It turned out I was wrong. Whew.....

I must admit, I find her answer way too overboard. It's tooooo religious and homily-sounding for my ears! Well, that's how most Filipinos are -- rooted to their religion.

But c'mon, she should have known that the audience and the pageant judges don't think that way, except for judge Lea Salonga, who happens to be a Filipino, too. Ms. Salonga was the judge who asked Miss Angola the question that paved the way to the title.

But Ms. Philippines answered with all honesty and without reservations. It was fucking straight to the fucking point! And it's only she who didn't need the help of a pathetic excuse for an icebreaker so as to give you time to think for an answer - an interpreter.

P.S. Have you heard of that joke, SALONGA in reverse is ANGOLAs.... Hence, MISS ANGOLA bagged the title.. kidding.

Still, I am soooooo proud of Miss Shamcey Supsup! My list of idols is getting longer and longer:

MANNY PACQUIAO - multi-level World boxing champion, the best of all boxers!
CHARICE - international singing sensation, "the most talented girl in the world"
LEA SALONGA - broadway singer, Miss Saigon
ARNEL PINEDA - lead vocalist, Journey

@mycoolroy me too! I was shouting like mad when she was awarded for placing 4th. She's beauty and brains. Magna cum Laude from the University of the Philippines (College of Architecture) ,, and NUMBER 1 TOPNOTCHER in the 2011 Architect Licensure Examination!
