  • i may be wrong, but curious to know, avastin is a company and Bevacizumab is the name of the drug, right??

    Avastin is the brand name of the drug which "scientific name", also called International Nonproprietray Name INN, is Bevacizumab.

    The company is Genentech which is part of the big pharma Roche - Hoffmann-Laroche, based in Switzerland.

  • There is no targeting of cancer-specific areas, & as a result various patients have reported vascular difficulties including heart troubles, & I speculate, risk of increased stroke troubles?

    Curiously, there seems no drug that targets heart & stroke patents with proliferation of Veg-F for vascular regeneration where cholesterol or calcium have caused blockages & other vascular troubles where replacement blood vessels would be beneficial. Why?

    Health Canada announced banning of Avastin today.
