I remember this like yesterday! I put my alarm on and woke up at 5 am on sunday morning to see this race live. Villeneuve was a breath of fresh air in 1996, but it was only right that Hill got his championship after two bitter dissappointments. I was happy for Villeneuves championship in 1997 too. Later of course it all went a bit sour... Same thing with Hill.
