Fallout: New Vegas NCR Veteran Ranger Helmet

This is the NCR Ranger helmet that I made completely from scratch. All I used was cardboard and the top of a plastic Darth Vader helmet. Then I resined it, smoothed it with bondo, and painted it. I decided to add some WIP shots to this video to help people see the process that I go through to build a helmet. I make all of my black visors/lenses from some clear plastic that was meant to be used as a mold for stepping stones. I buy it at JoAnne's craft shop. Then I cut it the shape I need it and spray it with some VHT Niteshades black spray paint tint which I bought from their online website. Then I hot glue it in to the helmet. I also need to thanks Kommissar for his awesome foam NCR armor build on the Wasteland Outpost and Evil Fx and Timecon for their awesome foam armor builds. I will hopefully be completing the whole armor set for this build so keep an eye out for updates. Enjoy!

Do it looks a lot like cardboard and hot glue with other parts added on. How much would you say this takes to make resource wise? I imagine it takes a lot of time and patience to make these. I would love to make stuff like this.

@sotik It takes a while to make one of these but there are different ways to make them. I used cardboard and the whole resin, fiberglass, and bondo processes on this one but if I did it again I would sculpt most of it from clay and then mold it. Using cardboard is cheaper though.

as much as this is REALLY cool, i get kind of mad that all these awesome tutorials are making video game armor or something, you guys should be making your own armor!!!!! don't waste your skill re making something (unless you are entering a contest) make something even cooler yourself. just my opinion, you can do whatever you want :)

@MrCarkeys42 Yeah, but that's the reason myself and I assume other people get into cosplay in the first place. We see awesome armor and weapons and want to make them and show them off. That's what cosplay is in my opinion.
