Powder Monkeys: Yin Yang (Hopetoun, 1992) 2/10

Ladies & Gentlemen,

After many years of procrastination on my part, please enjoy a fine performance by the one and only Powder Monkeys, at the peak of their abilities and on their first tour of Sydney at the Hopetoun Hotel in 1992.

Third generation transfer from a mouldy tape that I watched 1000 times, but, in my humble opinion, their best performance on Youtube. Tons of guitar noodling from John and Tim provides plenty of tough talk between tracks (all retained for your viewing pleasure). The first track is cropped at the beginning, but the picture & sound improve after a couple minutes. Notice how the sound is so loud that white lines appear on the screen when they guys are really going for it -- poor VHS camera can't handle it har har!

Filmed by Pete from Queenscliff (thanks buddy, wherever you are). Audience cameos include Joel Silbersher (Hoss), Micky & Simon Splatterhead as well as your young and very stoned narrator.
