Quick and dirty demo of my newly built Warmoth guitar project. Showing (nearly) all pickup combos in both crunch and high gain.

Guitar spec :
- Flame maple top on chambered swamp ash body - finished in "Tequila Sunrise Burst" - a real beauty!!
- Warmoth "Standard thin" flame maple neck - Indian rosewood fretboard with jumbo 6100 frets and 10"-16" compound radius
- Schaller Floyd Rose, R3 nut and Schaller mini locking tuners
- All gold hardware
- 'White Pearl' Warmoth pickguard
- Extensive shielding with copper tape

Playing through Marshall DSL-401 and using a Fulltone Fulldrive 2 (in comp cut mode) for boost into crunch channel.

Kinman Woodstock plus pickup set comprises AVn-69s in the neck and middle and the HX-85 higher output bridge pickup. The K9 harness lets you mix the neck and bridge together (demo'd in the vid) and put the middle and neck in series/parallel (no demo of that here - see my other K9 demo)

No serious playing here - just fooling around to show you the new geeetaw and the pickup versatility. I'll upload some cleaner and better structured playing as soon as I get another chance ....

ps. this is probably the best Strat in the world!!! but I might be biased...

  • What's the difference between the Schaller floyd and the "Original"?

  • @WoWintosh The Schaller has a smaller footprint which is why I got it ahead of the Original - it is also supposed to have a warmer tone due to the metal used in the knife edges but I haven't compared so couldn't comment.

  • Dude, that guitar sounds GREAT. Nice work! May I ask what the whole project cost you? I have an HSS American Strat but have always wanted a Strat with single coils. Thing is, most single coil Strats sound thin and brittle. Not yours, though!

  • @supermarine67 A little over a grand (in GBP£ that is) - for me in the UK buying from Kinman and Warmoth means import duties etc. I would say that for this build all in it cost around £1200 plus 5-10 hours of your time to put it together and fully set it up. However you get _exactly_ the instrument you want and the highest quality components. If you want a beefy single coil then the Kinman HX85 is for you - however the thicker sound also comes from chambered body and Schaller trem....

  • Same lick 0:22, 1:03, 1:15, 1:31. If I hear that ever again I am going to cut my ears off with a knife.

  • WARMOTH PUTS FENDER AND SUHR TO SHAME.....ROCK ON ....I HAVE 2 WARMOTH GUITAR

  • U have an uncanny ability to remind me of my high school yea when records used to skip What was this videos purpose.? I learned nothing

  • how low were you able to get the action with those 6100 frets? sounds awesome, I have a Warmoth tele and strat, best guitars for the money in the world!!

  • yep...... best strat ever!!!!! by looks and sound i would agree ..... you have me convinced.... i think ill be ordering my warmoth sometime soon!!!

  • Great Playing. I've got a warmoth guitar basically the same setup as yours (swamp ash, chambered body, schaller etc) but with seymour duncan antiquities. I've been trying to get a more vintage sound from this guitar with no luck. Do you think the way the guitar is constructed its' designed for heavier tones? Can't seem to get any real sparkle from this guitar. I'd appreciate your input.

  • Fucking awesome chops man. I'm looking at a chambered strat. Someone on the forums said that a Warmouth double truss rod neck can cause a weight imbalance because the body is so much lighter. Any thoughts on this?

  • Sound silence those tremolo springs ... it would sound so much better ...

  • looks and sounds great man

  • NO SERIOUS PLAYING MY BALLS!!! ur great dude!
