Great Playing. I've got a warmoth guitar basically the same setup as yours (swamp ash, chambered body, schaller etc) but with seymour duncan antiquities. I've been trying to get a more vintage sound from this guitar with no luck. Do you think the way the guitar is constructed its' designed for heavier tones? Can't seem to get any real sparkle from this guitar. I'd appreciate your input.

Fucking awesome chops man. I'm looking at a chambered strat. Someone on the forums said that a Warmouth double truss rod neck can cause a weight imbalance because the body is so much lighter. Any thoughts on this?

Sound silence those tremolo springs ... it would sound so much better ...

NO SERIOUS PLAYING MY BALLS!!! ur great dude!
What's the difference between the Schaller floyd and the "Original"?
WoWintosh 11 months ago
@WoWintosh The Schaller has a smaller footprint which is why I got it ahead of the Original - it is also supposed to have a warmer tone due to the metal used in the knife edges but I haven't compared so couldn't comment.

Dude, that guitar sounds GREAT. Nice work! May I ask what the whole project cost you? I have an HSS American Strat but have always wanted a Strat with single coils. Thing is, most single coil Strats sound thin and brittle. Not yours, though!

@supermarine67 A little over a grand (in GBP£ that is) - for me in the UK buying from Kinman and Warmoth means import duties etc. I would say that for this build all in it cost around £1200 plus 5-10 hours of your time to put it together and fully set it up. However you get _exactly_ the instrument you want and the highest quality components. If you want a beefy single coil then the Kinman HX85 is for you - however the thicker sound also comes from chambered body and Schaller trem....
