This snippet is from an 80's London based snooker tournament whos qualifying rounds were held in snooker clubs in and around London (those that had Thames Television coverage). The Quarter Finals onwards were televised with the winner then given a chance to 'double his money' with a one frame shoot-out with the World Champion (Steve Davis / Dennis Taylor, depending on what series.

Inbetween the serious stuff the World Champion would play an exhibition frame with a 'celebrity' (ie. people like Bobby Davro) and in this case, Allison Fisher.

If you look closely, in the opening title sequence see if you can spot a future World Champion using the rest. This was his very first appearance on television !

It can't be a push shot . To be a push shot it has to be in contact with the cue, cue ball and object ball all at the same time. And a miscue isn't a foul as long as the cue ball reaches the ball played ( in this case being the yellow.)

John Pullman called it right straight away. She should have played of the side cushion. A big target as the yellow was just off the bottom cushion. Amazing that referee John Smythe didn't call Alison for a push in the end. :-)

Yea to be honest it should have been a push shot. The cue was on the ball for ages whilst it was still moving, it was a very obvious fail.

However all things considered and the way in which they were all laughing, im not sure how serious the match was etc and it looked as if nobody really cared.

An impossible shot cannot be played. That would make it a possible shot.
