Jheronimus Vinders (also Vender or Venders) (fl. 1525--1526) was a Franco-Flemish composer of the Renaissance, active at Ghent. He was a minor member of the generation after Josquin des Prez, and he also composed a notable lament on the more famous composer's death. Dutch lyrics of the present song:

Mins liefkens brun oghen,
En harren lachende mondt,
Die doen mij pijnen doghen.
Dat icse sien noch spreken en
Mach, noch spreken en mach:
Dat claeg ic god en minen oghen,
Ic ben bedroghen.

(Lyrics from the setting by Benedictus Appenzeller in the same collection: Selectissimae necnon familiarissimae cantiones, Augsburg (edition), Kriesstein, M. (editor), 1540, see: http://www.liederenbank.nl/resultaatlijst.php?zoek=1001481&actie=lieduitb...)

This video is made of details of illuminated manuscripts by painters linked to Ghent, the city in which Vinders was active. The portrait of Margaret of Austria is by Bernard van Orley. She was governor of the Habsburg Netherlands from 1507 to 1515 and again from 1519 to 1530.
